    People do change . Some for the better and some for the worse (i.e being indifferent/ taking other people for granted ) ! It is tempting to think that people have irreconcilable differences or that they're simply with the wrong partner. The line between love and contempt grows ever thinner when compassion declines, as people try desperately to regulate how they feel by manipulating each other, which can only make them feel more powerless and inadequate.
